Miniclipper extends cloud WMS across its UK network
UK third-party logistics provider Miniclipper Logistics has completed another phase of its warehouse digitalisation programme, deploying Thomax’s cloud-based warehouse management system at the company’s EAV warehouse in Dunstable.
The latest activation is the fourth go-live in the network. Miniclipper plans to connect its remaining two facilities during the first quarter of 2027, creating a common WMS environment across all six warehouses in less than two years from the initial implementation.

Configuration over custom development
Miniclipper began evaluating systems as its business expanded beyond general haulage into pallet networks, warehousing and e-commerce fulfilment. The selected platform needed to support fulfilment and kitting, connect with customers’ ERP systems and be introduced rapidly without relying on extensive bespoke coding.
The first site went live in under four months after the contract was signed. Subsequent deployments have been staged by location, with Thomax personnel present during each transition to help protect customer service and operational continuity.
Facilities at Burton-on-Trent, Cherrycourt Way in Leighton Buzzard and the Hibay warehouse in the same town were already operating on the system before the Dunstable rollout. The Burton-on-Trent fulfilment operation now handles a peak order approximately every five seconds and can see as much as a month of upcoming demand, giving planners more visibility in a next-day delivery environment.
Digital foundation for growth
For Miniclipper, the project is intended to make capacity easier to manage as fulfilment volumes and customer requirements develop. A shared platform also gives customers a clearer route for ERP integration while reducing the complexity of operating different warehouse systems across the network.
Managing director Peter Masters said the company is already picking more quickly and effectively, while feedback from employees has generated operational improvement ideas that have been put into practice.
Founded in 1971, the family-owned logistics business now operates about 60 trucks and employs 230 people. Completing the rollout will give the operator a single digital operating layer across its warehouses and support further expansion without abandoning the flexibility required by its changing service mix.
