Element Logic integrates Ranpak packaging automation into warehouse solutions

Element Logic and Ranpak have announced a strategic global partnership designed to connect warehouse automation with automated end-of-line packaging. The companies say the arrangement will give customers a more integrated route from order picking through packing and final shipment.

The agreement allows Element Logic to include Ranpak technologies in wider warehouse automation projects. Its focus is on reducing manual intervention at the packing station while improving box utilisation, consistency and throughput.

Packaging becomes part of the automated flow

Ranpak’s systems can automatically select, form and size a box around an individual order. This rightsizing approach is intended to reduce surplus packaging material and the empty space carried through transport. The company also provides solutions covering box closing, computer vision and paper-based protection for products.

Integrated with Element Logic’s warehouse design, software and system-integration capabilities, these functions can link picking data to the packaging process. Instead of designing fulfilment and packing as separate operations, industrial and ecommerce users can plan a continuous outbound flow with packaging decisions made closer to the point of shipment.

The companies identify several potential operational benefits: lower packaging consumption, more efficient use of transport capacity, faster processing and greater repeatability. The partnership also responds to changing packaging expectations, including requirements being introduced through the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.

Broader scope for warehouse projects

The collaboration builds on work already undertaken by the two businesses and expands Element Logic’s portfolio across the warehouse value chain. Its stated scope extends from inbound logistics and storage to fulfilment, packaging and dispatch.

For warehouse operators, the development reflects a shift away from isolated automation investments. Combining software, material handling and end-of-line equipment can make it easier to coordinate throughput and packaging performance within the same system design. It may also help companies adapt packaging operations as order profiles and regulatory demands change.

Element Logic CEO Ankush Malhotra said the partnership would strengthen the company’s packaging offering and support scalable solutions. Ranpak CEO Omar Asali described the cooperation as a way to bring end-of-line capabilities into broader intralogistics implementations.
