Bleckmann launches H&M logistics operation in Crick
Bleckmann has started a new logistics operation for H&M Group at its warehouse in Crick, near Northampton, placing automation at the centre of the site’s planned development.
The operation went live in early August and supports logistics activities for several H&M Group brands. The facility sits in the East Midlands’ Golden Triangle, a major UK location for distribution and fulfilment.
Automation planned for the next phase
Bleckmann, which specialises in supply chain management for fashion and lifestyle companies, is investing further in the operation. Work is under way to introduce an advanced AutoStore system designed to increase warehouse efficiency, available capacity and operational flexibility.
The technology will give the site a more automated storage and retrieval capability as volumes and service requirements develop. For industrial and retail supply chains, the project illustrates how third-party logistics providers are combining established warehouse infrastructure with modular automation rather than relying solely on additional floor space.
Partnership moves from launch to expansion
Bleckmann said expanding its customer base and operations is important as demand grows among both existing and new clients. Reinardt van Oel, chief operations officer for Belgium and the United Kingdom, described the addition of H&M Group as an important step and said the company expected a productive cooperation.
The partners marked the start of the relationship with an event at the Crick facility. Employees from H&M Logistics and Bleckmann attended, alongside Bleckmann chief executive Gökalp Çak. A guided warehouse tour introduced guests to the layout of the new operation and the teams responsible for running it.
With the initial go-live complete and AutoStore implementation progressing, the Crick site is moving from launch activity towards a more automated operating model. The development gives Bleckmann additional capability in a strategically located UK distribution market while providing H&M Group with a dedicated logistics partnership for its brands.
