Tennant expands industrial cleaning technology with T1660

Tennant has introduced the T1660 Ride-On Scrubber across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, adding a machine aimed at routine cleaning in warehouses, logistics centres, manufacturing plants and light industrial facilities.

The battery-powered unit is designed to improve the productivity of floor-care teams without adding operational complexity. Its configuration combines a broad cleaning path, high-capacity solution and recovery tanks, and controls intended to reduce the time needed for operator familiarisation. For facilities managing large indoor areas, that can mean fewer interruptions for refilling and tank emptying during a cleaning shift.

Coverage and water recovery

With a cylindrical scrub head and two side sweep brushes, the T1660 can provide a cleaning path of up to 1,320 mm. Tennant estimates maximum productivity at 8,400 square metres per hour. Actual output will depend on the site layout, floor condition and operating pattern, but the specification positions the machine for high-throughput industrial environments.

Water management is another focus. Dual vacuum fans and a parabolic squeegee are designed to remove residual moisture more effectively, helping floors become ready for subsequent warehouse or production activity sooner. Adjustable scrub-head down pressure supports consistent cleaning across different floor applications.

Designed for simpler ownership

The machine uses colour-coded yellow maintenance points, guidance labels and an accessible recovery tank to make daily checks and routine servicing more straightforward. Customers can choose between disk and cylindrical scrub heads, while options include detergent metering, an overhead guard, dual side sweep brushes and squeegee protection kits.

Safety and usability features include an ergonomic operator station, clear visibility, headlights, blue safety lights and a seat switch that stops propulsion when the operator leaves the seat. Battery operation also reduces noise compared with combustion-powered equipment, making the T1660 suitable for indoor industrial work. Together, these features reflect a practical automation strategy: not autonomous cleaning, but a machine intended to deliver repeatable output while reducing training and maintenance demands.
