Clustag creates InLine division for automated logistics systems

Clustag has launched InLine, a new business division focused on supplying intralogistics automation integrators with technologies for identification, inspection and process control. The offering is intended to simplify the design of logistics and industrial lines while giving integrators access to specialist engineering support.

The company, which has developed RFID projects for retail businesses, is extending that expertise to a wider set of automated applications. InLine combines RFID with automatic labelling, machine vision, quality control and measurement technologies that can be incorporated into conveyors, sorters, picking systems, parcel flows and dispatch operations.

A broader automation toolkit

Automatic label printing and application is supported by expertise from Labelmasters, recently incorporated into Clustag. The business also adds volumetric measurement and weighing capabilities, creating a portfolio that covers several points in the flow of goods.

InLine’s solutions include DWS equipment for dimensioning, weighing and scanning, process validation, end-of-line operator stations and inspection systems. For industrial companies, the combination can provide automatic shipment identification, verification of contents, dynamic measurement and weighing, and detection of errors or damage before goods leave the facility.

Clustag says the systems are adapted to the characteristics of each installation. Product type, conveyor speed, application position and operating environment can all influence the required configuration. Data and camera images are therefore used to support operational decisions rather than simply to collect information.

Support for integrators and operators

The division is positioned as a technology partner for integrators, which remain responsible for tailoring complete projects to individual customers. Clustag’s InLine information highlights a service model that includes remote assistance around the clock, hotline and ticket-based support, video troubleshooting and on-site technical intervention.

For automation projects, that support can be as important as the hardware itself. A failure in labelling, scanning or verification can interrupt downstream handling and affect service performance. By combining equipment, application knowledge and continuing technical assistance, Clustag aims to reduce integration effort and help industrial customers maintain reliable, traceable flows.
